After retirement from a professional athletic career in 2012 due to multiple back injuries and mental and eating disorders caused by overtraining, coaches' and doctors' neglect and abuse, Katya dedicated herself to recovering and studying humane pedagogy, psychology, and coaching.
Starting her coaching career as early as 19, she has been spending weeks and hours in the gym trying to come up with the most entertaining, healthy, and fun training methodology. The new approach clearly worked as Katia's recreational groups doubled in size with no traumas taken place. Later she expanded her practice to personal training, coaching professional athletes and adults.
When the pandemic hit, Katia quickly transformed her offline training into the online one. The new format opened up the opportunity for the coaching practice worldwide. Since then more than 1000 online classes were given to students from San Francisco, California to London, the UK to Khanty-Mansiysk, Russia.
Now Katia continues her online teaching and tutoring practice, religiously following the core rules of the physically and mentally safe sports training. With her online gymnastics classes, she brings back the values her sport was designed to embody - the joy and freedom of movement, the Growth Mindset, and healthy and happy life.
